The tools combine Alfa Laval’s extensive service know-how with Microsoft’s software, data and AI expertise and will enable customers to make self-assessments to determine if and what services are needed. The service will also give sustainability advantages, as estimates show that up to 2.5 percent of the world’s CO2 emissions could be prevented if heat exchangers currently installed in industrial processes were simply cleaned and maintained properly.

“With this agreement we are able to create unique customer value with high availability. We can ensure that our heat exchangers are working optimally and maximize customer uptime, which is beneficial for both customers and the environment,” says Thomas Møller, President of the Energy Division.

Did you know… If properly serviced and maintained, an Alfa Laval plate heat exchanger can run for more than 20 years in an industrial process.

This is Alfa Laval

Core business processes in digital world rely on documents and unstructured or semi-structured data that contain valuable information critical to business operations. The definition of a ‘document’ continues to expand, and includes PDFs, emails, scans, images, paper and web forms, faxes and e-faxes, chats from chatbots, free-form text, and more. 80% of enterprise data is unstructured or in a format that is not machine-readable or readily available. However, traditional AI document processing solutions use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) or Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which are limited by rules-based and template-driven constraints.

Additionally, the OCR and RPA solutions have limited capabilities to self-learn. Not surprisingly, the results from these existing document processing solutions are often lackluster. Without other options, some organizations make do with sub-optimal products/solutions that don’t scale and increase inefficiencies.

Other organizations have not adopted any automation and rely on people to review, process, and act on documents. The manual labor required to process documents is tedious, can be error-prone, and keeps workers from doing more meaningful, impactful, and enjoyable work. In either scenario, using existing automation or no automation, handling documents is expensive and time-consuming—companies spend an average of $20 to file and store a single document, employees spend up to 50% of their time searching for information and can take, on average, 18 minutes to locate a single document.

Sarath Jarugula, Chief Product Officer at Algonomy said, “The Winter ’21 Release extends our core focus on algorithmic decisioning to additional areas of marketing and commerce lifecycle. Our new capabilities are self-serve, enterprise grade, and proven with early adopter customers realizing breakthrough results from these technologies.”

Social Proof Messaging – With an expanding range of catalogs, assortments and products to choose from, digital consumers face a high degree of decision fatigue. To cut through the clutter, it’s helpful to indicate which products have the confidence of other shoppers. Social Proof offers a way to create trust, urgency or credibility during the shopping journey. Social Proof messaging content is algorithmically optimized in real time to show a variety of tactics like popularity – product views, purchases, add-to-carts, or urgency – such as low stock levels. The product is enterprise grade, real-time and self-serve for marketers, not requiring any developer support for set up.

Hyperlocal Search & Recommendations – Retailers often want to prioritize products that are closest to the shopper to ensure efficient delivery or pick-up to improve the omnichannel experience. Algonomy Find™ now offers geo-search capabilities, to surface products or services that are within a zip code or within a shopper’s geo coordinates. Brands that offer location based offerings can run personalization algorithms on such location filtered results. Hyper-localized search is now available for early adopters, and complements the existing hyper-localized product recommendation capabilities in Algonomy Recommend™.

LiquidX Launches Digital Distribution of Trade Finance Assets

0

LiquidX, the global fintech solutions provider for working capital, trade finance, and insurance, announced the launch of automated digital distribution technology for trade finance assets. With this launch, banks and asset managers now have a fully digital solution for programmatic, automated origination and distribution of trade finance assets, allowing them to scale, improve returns, and generate costs savings for their trade finance businesses.

Trade finance asset distribution allows banks, asset managers, and other trade finance funders to balance portfolios to meet capital requirements and manage concentration risk, earn returns on assets, and free up liquidity to further support customers. For banks seeking to deploy balance sheet, purchasing trade finance assets is an attractive means of generating new income sources and positive returns.

According to estimates, $400-$500 billion of bank-intermediated trade finance is distributed annually, predominantly through inefficient, paper-based processes. According to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), upwards of four billion documents are moving across the trade ecosystem at any given time, and the lack of digitization slows trade and hampers growth.

With LiquidX, banks and asset managers can initiate single-click trading with their investor networks under existing agreements or to the LiquidX network of over 50 funders using the platform’s built-in legal infrastructure. This enables banks and asset managers to increase their trade finance volumes while eliminating manual processes that are a source of delay, inefficiency, fraud risk, and error.

“The ICC estimates that trade across the G7 could increase by $9 trillion in the next five years with digitization,” said Jim Toffey, CEO of LiquidX. “We are building the complete digital ecosystem that will allow trade to flourish and flow without manual impediments. Now banks and asset managers can originate, distribute, seamlessly access trade credit insurance, and generate better business intelligence – all on the LiquidX platform.”

LiquidX is a leading global technology company that enables finance professionals to transact faster, smarter, and cheaper by digitizing and automating their trade finance and working capital management. Headquartered in New York with offices in Boston, London, and Singapore, LiquidX delivers the industry-leading ecosystem for working capital optimization to its diverse network of global participants including corporations, banks, institutional investors, and insurance providers. LiquidX incorporates blockchain technology and machine learning analytics to greatly enhance transparency, reporting, and forecasting across financial ecosystems.

Zscaler Extends its Proven Zero Trust Exchange Platform to Deliver Zero Trust for Workloads

0

Zscaler, Inc., a leader in cloud security, announced the general availability of its new Workload Communications solution, part of the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange™, which extends Zero Trust security to workloads and applications hosted in public clouds. Zscaler’s cloud-native platform eliminates attack surfaces, prevents lateral threat movement, inhibits compromise of workloads, and stops data loss. It also helps IT teams simplify multi-cloud workload connectivity by moving away from traditional IP-based routing and VPNs between cloud environments to expedite enterprises’ cloud transformation initiatives.

With the deployment of enterprise workloads in multiple regions and cloud providers, legacy mesh networks are becoming costly, hard to implement, scale, and manage. Attempts by legacy vendors to adapt antiquated, castle-and-moat VPN and firewall architectures to the public cloud have allowed an unprecedented number of cybersecurity attacks, in addition to networking and application performance challenges for enterprises. As a result, organizations must rethink their approach to securing and connecting cloud-based applications and consider adopting new architecture able to simplify multi-cloud connectivity, elevate application performance, and provide comprehensive protection. Recent findings from the Zscaler ThreatLabZ research team underscore these challenges and outline the growing threat from unsecured workloads in the cloud and the need for inspection of all content including encrypted traffic.

To meet these needs, Zscaler has extended its Zero Trust Exchange to deliver the industry’s first Zero Trust for cloud workloads solution that secures cloud-to-internet, cloud-to-cloud, cloud-to-data center, and intra-cloud communications. Acting as an intelligent switchboard, traffic is routed to the Zscaler platform where connections are brokered using business policies based on identity and context to connect workloads directly to other workloads, without accessing the corporate network. Zscaler’s approach eliminates the attack surface by making workloads invisible to the internet, simplifies application connectivity by removing networking bottlenecks, and delivers superior application performance by reducing app-to-app latency. Collaborating with major cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Service (AWS), Zscaler delivers a network-agnostic Zero Trust fabric to secure cloud workloads and accelerate migration to the cloud.
